Jim Gant Associates is a highly respected health and safety company providing a range of professional health and safety training and consultancy services. Our company is based in Gosport, close to Portsmouth. Company Director Jim Gant originally trained and qualified as an Engineering Artificer within the Royal Navy. He then spent the next 20 years applying these skills within the demanding environment of the Royal Navy’s submarine service. It was during this period that he came to fully appreciate and learn the importance of safety.

Upon leaving the service he trained as a health and safety practitioner and worked for West Sussex County Council as a Senior Health & Safety Officer responsible for and advising a wide range of Departments including Education (350 schools & Youth Service), Social Services & West Sussex Probation Service.

Having gained experience within West Sussex and achieved Charted Status, Jim formed “Jim Gant Associates” ten years ago.    Our company pride themselves on the quality and attention to detail of services provided and use a small number of highly trained professional associates (all of whom belong to the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health and are Chartered Safety & Health Practitioners).

Jim Gant Associates now provide a range of training, consultancy and “competent person” assistance to companies predominantly in the South of England, however work can be undertaken further afield.

We are an accredited training centre with the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
Jim Gant is the course director for the Nebosh Certificate, having provided this at home as well as the international version abroad in Libya. We are proud of our high pass rate and take great pleasure in helping delegates to safely navigate the first steps to a new career in Health and Safety.
